“Censored” è centrato sulla censura informativa dei media negli Stati Uniti, ed ogni anno seleziona le più importanti 25 notizie variamente censurate, insabbiate  o inopportunamente ridimensionate dalla stampa.
Nell’edizione 2015, la principale notizia ignorata dai grandi mezzi di comunicazione è relativa all’acidificazione degli oceani.
La pubblicazione è edita dal “Project Censored”, fondato da  Carl Jensen nel 1976, presso la Sonoma State University. L’idea che anima il progetto è che un pubblico pienamente informato sia fondamentale per la democrazia.
